Funniest /anime moment

The /anime users decided to take it seriously and discuss the events of this 692nd cour of the show. In case anyone is wondering, the bug has been patched.
  2. "Holo fans were so afraid of losing to a meme waifu that they were blindsided from the possibility of losing to an actual character." There is no way do this moment justice without quoting the original comment by ShadSilvs2000. After all, salt is a staple of the Best Girl contest. Better luck next year, Holo voters !
  3. Sometimes, certain staple scenes comes back regularly as a way to show some specific ambiance in anime. And sometimes, people like Jason3b93 take it seriously and decide to write a post describing the Top 10 Static Shots of Power Lines With Cicada Noises.

And with this, we conclude the Best Of /anime 2019

We thank everyone who participated in the nominations and voting for this contest. Awards will be sent to the winners in the upcoming days.

Why the plan is not good in the long-term. An stupid analysis.

Ok, let's start this by saying I'm just a guy making google searches and calculating this on Excel very crudely. If anyone with better expertise wants to chime in, please. I'd love to actually know these numbers. Let's begin.

1. How long can you sustain a zombie population of a certain size?

I started trying to answer this question. So I got the numbers for total US population and death rate, this gives me number of new brains available per year. My number for death rate is 8 per 1,000. This aligns with the number of deaths per day Graves used in his video. With the current US population, this gives us a total of a little over 2.5 million brain every year.
Ok, so... how long does this last? To answer that I need the amount of brains a zombie needs to survive. I started trying to make some assumptions about that, and apparently I was super generous. I'd assumed a zombie needs 3 meals a day, and that one of those brain pieces Don E was offering at the end of the episode counted as a meal. If each piece has a 1 cm³ of volume, that's just 3 cm³ every day. To put this into perspective, an average human brain is 1195 cm³ (1260 cm³ for men and 1130 cm³ for women, using 50/50 distribution for simplicity). This means one brain could sustain a zombie for over a year. Great.
But... I was wrong (unless they infected 280 thousand people with the vaccines). You see, in the video, Graves says that only 10% of dead people need to donate their brains, that's 700 brains every day. And know we need to make another assumption of how many zombies there are in Seattle... Well, let's just go back to the original plan and change the amount of brains a zombie needs.
First, a note about these two numbers. The more we increase the amount of brain a zombie needs, the less zombies there are in Seattle at the moment. But also, the less a brain is worth. Assuming a zombie needs 50 cm³ per day means there are almost 17,000 zombies (roughly 2.41% of Seattle's population).
With this number, we can calculate that the critical mass of zombies would be almost 170,000 zombies (if every dead person decides to donate their brain. This is almost a fourth of Seattle's population. Any more zombies than that and there's not enough brains.

2. How long until we get to zombie critical mass?

Ok, so this is the hard part. I've found some info about the SIR model, but that's too much for my current attention span.
What we need to consider, is that zombism is 100% contagious, if you get infected, you will become one. It's also really easy to transmit, since it only takes a scratch. If a person gets infected, there's the chance that their SO will choose to be infected since zombie-human contact will do so. There's also stupid people who will go to Seattle to get superpowers.
Without running the numbers it's impossible to be sure. But we just need a 10x increase in the number of zombies to get to critical mass. If the disease leaves Seattle it can start to spread much more quickly since there's no Filmore Graves to supply brain mush to the infected.

3. Some final thoughts.

If the zombies win they'll have to eventually start farming humans. Using the same numbers as before, the entire world could support a zombie population of close to 4 million. With 4 million zombies, it's gonna be impossible to control the spread and soon enough most of the US will be zombies.
The US population would need almost 5 billion brains every year. That's basically impossible. You'd need 5 billion women giving birth every year to keep up with that. Assuming it takes 10 year for the brain to get to it's max size, the zombies would need to keep a 50 billion human livestock. And this is leaving aside the ones they need to replace the women that are giving birth. These numbers could be smaller if you consider that at three months a baby has over half of the brain mass of an adult, but I don't want to dwell on the thought of eating baby brains.
Anyway, that's absolutely impossible to accomplish and by that point the virus is already in other countries and in a few years Rick is going to wake up from his coma.
One other thing, when I was thinking about the end scenario of human livestock for brain harvesting I remembered a great new manga. If you like manga, go read The Promised Neverland.
